What is Reiki and where did it come from?

 

Reiki originated from Japan founded by Mikao Usui around 1922. It is a healing practice, a healing touch of the hands to help promote healing from many symptoms of illness. It is very relaxing and helps to bring about balance of the mind body and spirit.

How is Reiki given and where does it come from?

 

Reiki energy flows it doesn't come from the practitioner it comes from the infinite supply and during a treatment the energy flows through the practitioners hands to the recipient who will either be seated or lying down fully clothed. The practitioner begins by placing hands with gentle touch onto the recipient with a serious of hand positions from the head, shoulders, upper chest, stomach and feet.

 

 

What does Reiki feel like?

 

During a Reiki treatment Reiki varies from person to person. Some say they feel a deep feeling of relaxation, some feel a tingling or heat that flows within and surrounds them, as the Reiki begins it will release anxiety, fear and negative feelings. It brings inner peace and wellness. Some recipients have fallen asleep feeling refreshed balanced and have more clarity of thought at the end of their treatment. 

 

Is Reiki like a massage?

 

No, Massage is when a clients body muscles are deeply manipulated and stroked by a massage

therapist,  were the client is on a massage table and undressed. With a Reiki Practitioner they will use a gentle touch or no touch at all, during a Reiki session the practitioners hands are quiet and still to give the practitioner a better sense of movement to the energy and during a Reiki treatment the recipient will always be fully clothed.

 

What illnesses can be treated with Reiki?

 

Reiki can be used for minor colds, flu, anxiety, stress, depression, stomach problems, backache, headaches, arthritis, asthma and much more.
